This is the moment a kind-hearted Liverpool police officer stepped in to help a woman who was unable to pay for her food.
The man – described as a “gent” by onlookers – was spotted waiting for his meal in a takeaway on Thursday night.
A woman who shared a photo of the moment on social media said he helped out when another customer did not have enough money to pay for her own order.
She said she wanted to thank the officer for his actions.
She wrote: “…I am in town tonight and seen this police officer waiting for his food, a female in pjs didn’t have enough to pay for her order and so he quietly stepped in, paid, before leaving.
“I wanted to thank you not just for the female whose dinner you paid for, but also for our City, Liverpool.
“What a gent you are and I am proud to have you as an officer in our City!”
The post has also been shared on Twitter, with Bunkers Golf Society calling the officer’s act of kindness “superb”
Graham Smith added: “The police Force do a tremendous job in very difficult and dangerous situations, they deserve our upmost respect.”
Merseyside Police has thanked members of the public for their kind words.
