She welcomed her first child, India, with boyfriend Josh Patterson at the start of the summer.

And two months on, Made In Chelsea’s Binky Felstead has admitted how naturally she has taken to motherhood – and that she is loving every minute of it.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline on the eve of the launch of her latest collection for InTheStyle, Binky, 27, said: ‘It’s just been so lovely so far, since India arrived. I feel like I’ve taken to it so naturally. It’s become second nature to me.

‘India has started to smile now, and chuckle. She’s got so much character. I’ve found myself so happy and chilled by motherhood.’

The arrival of India was charted in Binky and JP’s two-part E4 special, Born In Chelsea – and Binky admits she’s thrilled with the viewers’ reactions, and that she was expecting some backlash.

‘I expected it to be a lot worse,’ she admitted. ‘You get trolls, you get scaremongers. And that’s worse when you’re a new mum. But I have learnt to listen to myself – and my own mum.

‘There’s no textbook way of becoming a mother. And I’ve realised that babies aren’t made of glass. I’m not being overly protective, I’ll happily pass India around and let people hold her.’

Binky credits her mum Jane – who she is known to have a close bond with – for providing her with sage advice where she needs it.

‘I have always been so maternal growing up. And it’s an ode to my mother really,’ she said. ‘Mum will say to me “don’t be ridiculous” if I’m worrying about something silly. She doesn’t hold back.

‘She’ll tell me that I don’t have to totally change my life now I have a baby. I can still do things. I can still go out. She encourages me not to stay in or switch off from the outside world. That being said, I’m enjoying some time off.’

Binky is taking a break from Made In Chelsea, and doubts she’ll return full time; but she says that without the show she wouldn’t be where she is today, and that she’ll never truly leave it behind.

‘The door is always open at MIC,’ she explained. ‘I’ll go and do cameos.’

She also admitted she has been watching the season currently set in Ibiza – the first season not to feature her at all.

Binky said: ‘Mum and I watched the first episode together. It’s the same old drama I guess. I do miss the fact that they’re all off on holiday, experiencing beautiful things. But it’s nice to just watch, for once. It’s much less stressful.’

As well as cameos in MIC, Binky hinted that she’d be open to more episodes of Born In Chelsea.

‘People do seem to want more,’ she said of the fan response. ‘We’re pleased with the way it came across. It’s what we wanted. We wanted people to relate to us, as new parents.’

Proud: Binky also revealed how JP has taken to fatherhood - 'He is a great dad. He always wants to try and make India smile. He's very active with her, a bit like she's already a toddler. It will be lovely when he can properly run around with her and play with her'

The programme followed Binky and JP as they tackled the last weeks of pregnancy, the birth and then the first weeks of India’s life, and was produced very differently to MIC, which follows a structured reality format.

‘We wanted to just be doing normal stuff in normal situations,’ she explained. ‘Like, the breast feeding scene. We wanted to be honest about that. And we’re lucky that we have all this on film, and Josh and I can show India one day.’

Of her InTheStyle range, Binky said the style is a follow-on from her past designs.

‘It’s bo-ho chic. It’s that day-to-night style. Very comfy, very cool,’ she explained. ‘There are lovely rose embellishments and a checked dress that I adore.

‘I have tried to merge stuff suitable for pregnancy and stuff that can be worn when you’re not pregnant. It’s good for mums who have recently given birth, it can cover parts of you up, be comfy, but still glam.’
